Allen has 35 licensed massage establishments. Almost all of them sit on the US 75 side of the city. If you live on the eastern edge — Angel Parkway, Bethany Drive — you are driving west across your own city to reach any of them. We are 6.6 miles the other direction, down a single road.
That road is FM 1378. It runs south out of Allen as West Lucas Road and Southview Drive, through Lucas, and becomes Country Club Road in Wylie. Lovejoy ISD's administration building is on it. We are at 560. From southeast Allen the trip is about 11 minutes with no highway, no US 75 merge, and no left turn across six lanes at 5:30 PM.
From central Allen off Main Street it is around 11.1 miles and 19 minutes via Angel Parkway to West Lucas Road. From Watters Creek on the far west side it is closer to 13 miles, and at that point the local chains genuinely are more convenient — we would not tell you otherwise.
The spa cluster in Allen sits on West McDermott Drive and East Stacy Road, and it is well stocked: two national chains, a regional chain, a resort-style spa at Watters Creek, and a deep bench of independents. This page is not arguing that Allen is underserved. It is arguing about geography.
Allen has no DART service, so everything here is a drive regardless. Given that, the question is not distance so much as which drive you would rather make. FM 1378 south through Lucas is farmland and acreage lots. McDermott at rush hour is not.
